The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining us!

First, I should say that we went through some iterations before calling this Resiliency Rocks… In fact, the favored title was “So much to say and so little time,” in the end Resiliency Rocks seemed to be more appropriate since Community Resiliency is the goal.

This is a journey and not one that can be taken alone, rather one that the more people who come with you the better the journey is and the more it will be for all who take it.

The truth is that there really is so much to say on so many subjects that it becomes difficult to decide which conversation to begin when and with whom. The largest challenge is that we do not know the people who will come along on this journey. We do know that they will come to the journey from different places, hearing different messages in different ways, they will come for different reasons and will bring different things with them, good and bad. What we know is that we need to meet these folks where they are when they come, to listen and try to understand how they got here and what they want/need from the process and to support them in their efforts along the way.

This is our agreement with you, all of you: We will share what we know along the way to the best of our ability, we will be open to change and the needs of those joining the journey with us.

You need to tell us where we missed and ask for what you need, giving us the opportunity to grow and connect with you.

We also need to agree to practice the Four Agreements on this Journey so that we can work better together:

  1. Be impeccable with your word.
  2. Don’t take anything personally.
  3. Don’t make assumptions.
  4. Always do your best.

The rest we will develop as we journey together…
